My Son Sanctuary From Da Nang: Ticket Price, Hours and Visit Guide

The Da Nang tourism portal, citing the My Son Sanctuary Management Board, gives the international entrance ticket as VND 150,000 per person per entry. The portal gives 06:00 until 17:30 in summer and 17:00 in winter; the board's ticket shop gives 06:00 to 18:00. The only listed tourist bus, from Hoi An, is suspended.

The international ticket is VND 150,000 per person per entry, including sightseeing and service fees, per the Da Nang tourism portal page dated 26 September 2025.

Opening hours differ between sources. The portal’s article dated 12 March 2026 says 06:00 until 17:30 in summer and 17:00 in winter. The board’s ticket shop says visiting runs 06:00 to 18:00. My Son Sanctuary (Thánh địa Mỹ Sơn) preserves more than 70 temple structures built from the 4th to the 13th century.

The board’s online ticket shop lists these prices. The shop says they are final prices and include VAT.

Guide tickets

A guide (interpretation) ticket is VND 100,000 per ticket, applying from 1 February 2026 under the board’s notice dated 20 January 2026. The number of tickets depends on group size, per the same notice:

• 1 to 5 visitors: 1 guide ticket.
• 6 to 15 visitors: 2 guide tickets.
• 16 to 30 visitors: 3 guide tickets.

The guide service on the standard visiting route lasts about 60 minutes.

Opening hours: two sources differ

The tourism portal says visiting runs daily from 06:00, until 17:30 in summer and until 17:00 in winter.

The board’s own ticket shop gives ticket sales from 06:00 to 17:30 and site visiting hours from 06:00 to 18:00.

The portal recommends visiting early in the morning to avoid the midday summer heat, so plan to arrive early.

From 16 March 2026, the portal lists these performances:

Cham folk singing is held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 09:00 and 14:45, at the foot of the slope leading to Tower H. The “Echoes of My Son” show is held on the 15th of every month in the BCD area, at 09:00 and 14:45.

If the weather is unfavourable, the performance at Tower Group G is paused.

What to see at My Son Sanctuary

Towers and temple groups

The complex was built continuously over 10 centuries, with 13 closely related groups of structures named A to M. The temples were primarily dedicated to the god Shiva, represented in the form of the linga.

UNESCO listing

My Son was inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List on 4 December 1999. The board’s statement of Outstanding Universal Value gives two criteria:

• Criterion (ii): the temple complex is an outstanding example of cultural exchange, integrating outside influences, especially Indian art and architecture, into local culture.
• Criterion (iii): the temple complex vividly reflects the role of the Champa Kingdom in the cultural and political history of Southeast Asia.

Who it suits (and who should skip it)

• Suits visitors interested in temple ruins: the site preserves more than 70 temple structures from the 4th to the 13th century.
• Suits visitors who want a performance: shows run in the morning and afternoon, the last at 16:00.
• Suits visitors with a spare hour for a guide: the guide service on the standard route lasts about 60 minutes.
• Skip the September to January rainy season if you dislike mud: the portal reports heavy rainfall, slippery paths and occasional flooding in the valley.
• Skip it in the midday summer heat: the portal recommends visiting early in the morning.

How to get to My Son Sanctuary

On the board’s About page, My Son is 68 km from Da Nang city and 45 km from the Hoi An Ancient Town World Heritage site.

There is no bus to rely on right now. The only listed tourist bus, route 01DL Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Gate, is suspended for 6 months from 15 September 2026. Its My Son stop was the car park of the sanctuary on Provincial Road 610.

When to go and how long

• February to April is considered the best time to visit, with cool, pleasant weather and lush spring greenery.
• Arrive early in the morning to avoid the midday summer heat.
• The first show is at 09:00 at the foot of Tower Group G, so an early arrival lets you see it.
• The guide service on the standard route lasts about 60 minutes.

The towers reflect the role of the Champa Kingdom in Southeast Asian history. In Da Nang, the Museum of Cham Sculpture shows Cham art.

One morning plan: arrive for the 09:00 show at the foot of Tower Group G, then catch the 09:45 show at the Performance House. Continue to Hoi An, 45 km away, for the afternoon.

Before you go

• Book online if you prefer: online ticket booking is available to visitors to My Son, with Visa, MasterCard, JCB and UnionPay accepted.
• Dress in neat, modest and respectful clothing when entering the temple towers.
• Do not touch, climb or carve on brick walls, stone steles, trees or architectural structures.
• Photography is allowed without flash; commercial filming or photography needs permission.
• Do not eat or drink in the monument area.
• At the performance house, do not go on stage to give flowers or film or photograph while performers are performing, per the rules dated 30 June 2020.
• Expect heavy rain and slippery paths between about September and January.

Not confirmed: Closing time: the tourism portal and the board's ticket shop give different closing times, so arrive early. Getting there: no official page gives a drive time from Da Nang or a parking fee, and no working public bus is listed. Drones: no official page states a drone rule. Paying at the gate: the board's pages describe online payment, so cash or card at the ticket window is not stated.
