Under Law 47/2014/QH13, a foreigner who wants to extend a stay does not file alone. The inviting or sponsoring organisation or individual files the request.

Người nước ngoài đang tạm trú tại Việt Nam có nhu cầu gia hạn tạm trú phải đề nghị cơ quan, tổ chức, cá nhân mời, bảo lãnh làm thủ tục tại cơ quan quản lý xuất nhập cảnh hoặc cơ quan có thẩm quyền của Bộ Ngoại giao.

A foreigner staying in Vietnam who wants to extend the stay must ask the inviting or sponsoring organisation or individual to file with the immigration authority or the competent Ministry of Foreign Affairs body. Luật 47/2014/QH13, Điều 35 khoản 1

A Vietnamese citizen who sponsors must be a grandparent, parent, spouse, child or sibling of the foreigner, and must show proof of that relationship. The government fee is US$10 for each extension.

Visa Danang’s extension page says it files the dossier on the customer’s behalf. That is the agent’s own statement.

How to check a visa agent

Look on the agent’s own page for the company name, a registration number and an international travel licence number. The three agents below each show some of these.

Search the licence number on the national register of travel businesses at quanlyluhanh.vn. The register entries below were searched on 5 October 2026. An entry shows that the travel licence exists for that company and nothing about visa services.

  • Read the company name and registration number on the agent’s page and write them down.
  • Ask the agent which organisation or person files as sponsor, and ask for that answer in writing.
  • Ask for the service fee in writing. The government fee is US$10 per extension.
  • Compare the office address with the Google Maps listing.

Ratings below are Google Maps figures checked on 5 October 2026. They are a count of ratings, not a check of the agent’s work.
