Da Nang Night Market: Hours and Which One to Pick

Three night markets run in Da Nang now. Son Tra, at the Dragon Bridge head, opens from about 5:30PM. Helio, on 2 Thang 9 Street, opens 5-11PM except Wednesday. Le Duan, for clothes, opens 5-11PM. Pick Son Tra for seafood and the bridge show, Helio for food with live music, Le Duan for cheap clothes.

Son Tra draws its biggest crowds on the nights the Dragon Bridge breathes fire, and it is the market with the overcharging story, because July 2026 social media posts alleged overcharging. A ward inspection that month found price lists generally on display. Helio and Le Duan are the quieter alternatives. Our pick: Son Tra for seafood and the bridge show, Helio for a spacious food court with live music, Le Duan for cheap clothes.

Da Nang night markets: opening hours and locations

Son Tra and Helio are the two to plan an evening around, and Le Duan is a short stop for shopping. Check the day of the week first, because Son Tra opens a little earlier on Saturdays and Helio is closed on Wednesdays.

Son Tra Night Market: seafood by the Dragon Bridge

Son Tra is the market most visitors end up at, because it sits at the Dragon Bridge head next to the Love Bridge, the carp-turning-into-dragon statue and the Bach Dang walking street. It has two main zones, a food area and a souvenir area.

Food and souvenir stalls under a roofed section of the market at night, with visitors browsing.
The food stalls cluster in covered sections like this one, so check a stall before you sit down.

In the food zone you will find banh xeo, mi Quang, bun mam nem and banh cuon, plus grilled skewers and grilled meat.

For seafood, shrimp, octopus, squid, clams and crab sit on ice trays at the stalls; you pick your own and have it cooked on the spot, for example grilled with scallion oil, steamed with lemongrass or stir-fried with salt. We recommend the seafood stalls if you want one proper meal here, and the grill if you only want a snack. Souvenir stalls sell clothes, conical hats and keyrings printed with Hoi An and the Dragon Bridge.

Grilled skewers like these are the quickest snack to grab while you walk the food area.

Crowds follow the bridge: stallholders say the market is busiest on the nights the Dragon Bridge breathes fire, and weekends are livelier. In April 2025 the market drew around 5,000-8,000 visits a night.

Prices need a little care here. After posts alleged overcharging, stale seafood and watermelon juice diluted with water, a ward inspection on the night of 25 July 2026 found seafood, food and drink stalls had generally displayed price lists or menus.

It also found no cases of vendors charging prices different from those listed, payment fraud, price gouging or coercing customers. The ward itself called those findings preliminary and not enough to settle food quality and safety, and said a wider inter-agency inspection would follow.

So check the marked price at the stall before you order, and compare a few stalls first. Visitors in late October 2026 advised bargaining on souvenirs, and one found prices marked on the products in plain view.

Expect stallholders to call out to you as you pass, and many stalls to look alike. One Korean visitor found the indoor-style food stall noisy and the taste so-so, though still tastier than Helio. Branded goods here may be counterfeit, so treat Son Tra as a place to enjoy the atmosphere rather than to shop for labels.

Helio Night Market: food court with live music

Helio is back and running, but it had a gap worth knowing about. Helio Center announced that Helio Play, Helio Kids and Helio Night Market would close temporarily from 5 September 2025 for renovation, planning a comeback at the end of 2025. It now opens 5-11PM every day except Wednesday, when it is closed, and visitors in the first days of November 2026 praise the good food, the many activities and the relaxed atmosphere.

Use this colourful stack as your landmark when you arrive; the stalls start just beyond it.

Expect banh xeo, varied food, skewers, tteokbokki, a play area, live music and a spacious, airy layout. Helio is a food hub of street food, seafood, grilled food, beer, milk tea, lemon tea and ice cream. Average prices of VND 5,000-35,000 come from an undated older page, so treat them as a rough guide and check the board on the night. Helio is our pick if you want to sit with a drink and a stage nearby.

The entrance and the parking lot are wheelchair accessible.

Le Duan Night Market: cheap clothes, small market

Le Duan is a clothes market, not a food stop. Stalls sell clothes, shoes, bags and fashion accessories side by side, and a young shopper told Tuoi Tre in February 2026 that most clothes cost VND 100,000-250,000. It is also a destination for many foreign visitors, and one visitor described a street of market stalls that is good for bargaining.

A wide street at night lined with clothing and goods stalls, with visitors in the distance.
The market spreads across the street itself, so expect to walk on the road between the stalls.

Time your visit for after dark. Le Duan starts getting crowded from about 7pm, but most shops are not open until after 6pm and many are still setting up before then. A Korean visitor in October 2026 called it too small for a tourist night market, at about 3 minutes to walk through. We recommend pairing it with dinner elsewhere rather than making it the whole evening. Small food stalls (sugarcane juice, baked rice paper, sandwiches) cost only VND 5,000-15,000 on an undated older page.

Who each night market suits

  • Son Tra suits you if you want seafood picked from ice trays and cooked on the spot, with the Dragon Bridge show close by. Skip it if you dislike stallholders calling out to passers-by.
  • Helio suits you if you want a spacious food court with live music and a play area. Skip it on Wednesdays, when it is closed.
  • Le Duan suits you if you want clothes, shoes and bags at about VND 100,000-250,000 for most clothes. Skip it if you want a big market, as one visitor saw it all in about 3 minutes.

How to get to the night markets

Book a Grab or taxi to the pin for each market; our guide to getting around Da Nang covers the options. Son Tra is at the crossing of Ly Nam De and Mai Hac De streets, An Hai Tay Ward, at the Dragon Bridge head. Helio is on 2 Thang 9 Street, Hai Chau. Le Duan is at 144 Le Duan, Hai Chau.

At Le Duan, park outside and walk in, because the market is not big. One visitor described it as about a 15-minute walk from Da Nang station.

When to go: show nights, crowds and setup time

Go to Son Tra on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday if you want the Dragon Bridge show, which starts at 9pm on those nights and on major holidays. Those are also the busiest nights, so arrive early and eat before the show. See the Dragon Bridge fire show guide for the schedule.

For Le Duan, arrive after 6pm so the stalls are open, and expect it to be busy from about 7pm. Helio is the one to plan around the calendar, because it is closed on Wednesdays.
