Vietnam E-Visa Rejected: Wrong Information, What to Do
Incomplete, inaccurate or dishonest declarations can get an e-visa denied, and the US$25 or US$50 fee is not refunded if the visa is not granted. Before you pay, check your name against the ICAO line of your passport in uppercase and correct any auto-filled passport field.

If you have not paid yet, the fee comes only after you receive your electronic profile code, and the 3-working-day limit starts only once the Immigration Department has your complete information and the fee. If you have already paid, the fee is not refunded, so we recommend applying again with the correct details before you fly.

You submitted and then spotted a mistake: what do you do now?
Compare every character of your e-visa file with the ICAO line of your passport, because the name must match that line exactly, in uppercase. No official text describes editing or cancelling a submitted application, so a fresh application is our advice and not a confirmed fix.
Leave time for it: a decision takes no more than 3 working days from a complete application and the fee. If your flight is close, the Immigration Department hotline on the e-visa site is 02438257941 and its service support email is foreigners@xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn.

Be wary of pages that sell an “amendment” service, because the official addresses are evisa.gov.vn and thithucdientu.gov.vn, and unofficial pages may charge unauthorized fees. See Vietnam e-visa fees and rules for the full process.
Your e-visa was refused: what now?
You cannot get the fee back, because it is non-refundable when the visa is not granted. The fee is US$25 for a single entry or US$50 for multiple entries.

Before you apply again, go through what you declared: your name, the passport details, the photo and anything about earlier entries. A declaration that is not complete, accurate and truthful can get you denied, including leaving out past violations from earlier entries, and any dishonest information the Immigration Department finds leads to a refusal.
At the border, a false declaration made to obtain an entry or residence document is a separate case not yet allowed entry, decided by the head of the border immigration control unit.
Giả mạo giấy tờ, khai sai sự thật để được cấp giấy tờ có giá trị nhập cảnh, xuất cảnh, cư trú.
Forged papers or a false declaration to obtain a document valid for entry, exit or residence are a case not yet allowed entry.

Your e-visa was granted but a detail is wrong: what do you do?
If you spot the mistake before you fly, we recommend the same as for a wrong detail in a pending application. The name has to match the ICAO line, so a new application with the right details is the safer route.
At the border you must present valid residence documents, such as an electronic visa, to the immigration officers. Check the temporary residence certificate stamped in your passport and tell border immigration control straight away if any detail is wrong.
How do you fill the form right from the start?
Enter your full name, with surname, middle name and given name, exactly as on the ICAO line of your passport, in uppercase letters. Copy it from the two lines of machine-readable text at the bottom of the photo page.
Declare everything in English. After you upload the photos, the system fills in your passport details automatically, and you can check and correct anything wrong before you submit.
Photo rules are strict:
- The portrait is a recent 4x6 cm JPG or JPEG under 2MB.
- It is front-facing, with no hat, no glasses, formal attire and a white background.
- If the passport photo is invalid, the system will not let you submit.
How do you check the status of your application?
On the search page of evisa.gov.vn, enter your electronic profile ID, date of birth and email address. If the e-visa is granted, you use the electronic profile code to check and print the result on the e-visa site.
Which dates and gates matter?
An e-visa is valid for a maximum of 90 days, and its validity must end at least 30 days before your passport expires. You must enter and exit through the international border gates designated for e-visa holders, and Da Nang Airport is on the list of air gates.

What to have ready when you land is in Da Nang Airport immigration on arrival. For help with paperwork, see visa agents in Da Nang, and if time has run out, Vietnam overstay fines.
